We have a 3D printer at Westgate? Say what...
Come see what the Westgate elves have been working on in technology. The Westgate 3D Winter Wonderland will be on display December 12th-16th in the main lobby. This diorama will include original works created by 1st - 12th grade students. 1st/2nd graders created coins, necklaces or medallions. 3rd/4th graders built structures and buildings. 5th/6th graders spawned characters and figures and high school students fabricated individual projects that range from scale building replicas to race cars. Stop by and experience the magic!

Volunteer Background Checks
To ensure the highest level of safety and security for our students, Westgate will require all volunteers who work in the school during school hours or chaperone field trips/overnight events to undergo a background check. This service will include Colorado State background and National Crime Index which includes the national sex offender registry.

We believe this additional step of security provides the safest environment for our kids.

The charge for the background check in $19. Before volunteering, payment must be received and the background check must be complete. Most are complete in 48 hours.

From the 2016-17 Student/Community Handbook:
Beginning in 2016-2017, all volunteers are required to have a background check. Teachers MAY NOT have any parents in to their class or on a field trip who are not on the approved list. Volunteers need only complete background check once. Westgate cannot accept outside background checks. All checks must be completed through Westgate’s system.

Westgate Curriculum Scope and Sequence
The Westgate Staff has been building a school-wide curriculum scope and sequence for every subject area as part of our professional development this year. These spreadsheets are meant to help parents understand what units are being taught by each teacher at each grade level throughout the school year. Parents will also see how skills and standards build across the grade levels.

We have added all quarters for this year to the file "Westgate Curriculum Scope and Sequence" to the right (at the bottom). Our hope is that this information will ensure every Westgate student has a comprehensive educational program throughout their time at Westgate.
